Why can’t ‘run like a girl’ just mean ‘win the race’? Always’ #LikeAGirl videos shine light on female confidence
When we were young, as students in elementary school, perhaps, we took pride in our genders. We girls were so confident in ourselves that we playfully imagined how all the boys had “cooties,” and we stuck together. “Girls rule and boys drool,” so the mantra went.
So, where did all that self-confidence go? When did the connotation that goes along with phrases like “run like a girl” suddenly change, and how can we change it back?
